For completely vanilla and update-proof audio (and dead simple) just install AppleALC from insanelymac. Put it in your kexts/other folder in clover, restore the vanilla AppleHDA in your El Capitan install, and either have Clover inject layout 1, or add it to your DSDT. Done!

After running codec-info
I get this output

ERROR: No HDEF Device found in DSDT

How do I add HDEF to DSDT?
I am not too familiar with editing these files.

Despite reading different threads I cannot get audio to work this motherboard.
I tried CloverALC script and it fails with error
Error: no IOReg/HDEF; BIOS/audio/disabled or ACPI problem

Go to https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC/blob/master/audio_cloverALC-110.command.zip and click on view raw to download script. Run script. Reboot, open preferences/sound and set output device to internal speakers.

All credit to toleda.

Shows you do not have Clover installed to your HDD/SSD with a config.plist.
Install Clover first!

Clover is installed.
I have an EFI partition and clover is definitely on it.

I used unibeast to create the OSX boot disk which made an EFI partition with clover.

I managed to get audio working now.

I'm late in the thread. I am considering to get OSx on my system since Windows 10 seems to have some audio bugs and no sleep on my GA-x58a-UD3R and there is no community forming for that anywhere, just suspicious websites with drivers.

I was able to buy an OSx 10.6.3 disc way back, that isn;t a thing now and I need Mac OS in order to download the update and use that. What do I do to get El Capitan now or even some previous version that is compatible?

You can use your 10.6.3 DVD to install SL following http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/iboot-multibeast-install-mac-os-x-on.html
When you have it running, run MultiBeast and select only EasyBeast since you are immediately going to download ElCapitan and install that instead. Download and install the 10.6.8 update (combo) from Apple support and install it.
Download El Capitan install app from the MAS.
Create UniBeast USB, selecting Legacy mode for Clover and install El Capitan following the latest installation guide.
When you run MultiBeast post install, again, select Legacy mode for the Clover boot loader and select to install NullPCU kext if you have no DSDT.
