There are no errors in SSDT5.dsl when created with correct disassembly procedures:

iasl -da -dl -fe refs.txt DSDT.aml SSDT*.aml

22437 6126 syntax error unexpected $end and premature end-of-file

This file is not a native disassembly.

The problem you have could be caused by the patches you applied, or edits you made incorrectly.

Since I see no _DSM methods here, I suspect it is caused by applying 'Remove _DSM methods'. This issue is covered in the guide. Read it carefully.

Always compile after applying a patch. That way, if one causes a problem, you know which one it is.

You have to use "Remove _DSM methods" or in the case that patch causes problems (I suspect it will), "Rename _DSM methods to XDSM".

It is all detailed in the guide. Always read carefully.

Apply "Rename _DSM methods to XDSM" prior to applying other patches.

It is in the guide... please read it.

Don't expect others to do your work for you. Your hack, your responsibility to learn how to accomplish it. Don't expect learning the many skills that will be needed to be easy or quick.

Nice guide!
I will probably be getting this laptop to run Logic pro X ... Does anyone have any experience about stability of this laptop + El capitan + Logic pro X?
I was experiencing some audio latency spikes with my previous attempt on a different laptop. Perhaps related to USB controller or sound card driver but I never figured it out.

Eg. It worked stable for one hour and then out of nothing there was a 1s audio lag

Thank you so much! I was finally able to boot the installer, although the 520/530/540 config.plist in that guide did not boot for me. What fixed it was just adding the ig-platform-id (0x19160000) from the config from that guide to the otherwise stock config.plist (and adding nv_disable=1, -v, inject intel, and USB ownership like in the original guide).

Man you're the best! I finally reached the installer using that ig-platform-id thank you very much.

[EDIT] I installed El Capitan successfully, but now I can't boot into the HDD! I'm having the same black screen issue that I had before installing, using the ig-platform-id doesn't seem to work... any ideas?
