Hey WonkeyDonkey,

Here are my current USB settings in the bios.

Cheers

Hi all,

with these USB settings, I still get
kernel[0]: Wake reason: GLAN EHC1 EHC2 XHC HDEF (Network)

I managed to get it down to EHC1 only, but only with some compatibility mode (or not) - that prevented me from getting into BIOS on boot. Apparently it did not turn on USB power until after BIOS then...
When I had it at EHC1 only, wake still did not work.
EHC1 was then the USB2 port that my USB keyboard and USB mouse were connected to.

Is there anything else you changed?

Thanks,
Rudolf

This is my first build I bought the Asrock z97e-itx/ac MOBO for my Prodigy .
My question is about the wifi ,I'm gathering it doesn't work as shipped so please dumb it down for me. What Airport card will fit where the current wifi card is (yes I'm that slow and paranoid ).
Is this it  http://www.amazon.com/661-6534-661-7013-AirPort-Wireless-Bluetooth/dp/B00ZGSBA9G/

I'm a front end developer who's work station is no where near a hardline so I'm kinda freaking out.

I'll be ordering the rest of my parts this week and if this is needed i don't want to find out on build day

Also: I plan on installing el"Capitan but I'll install whatever is at the stability sweet spot
Thanks

That will not fit - you need half height and if you want to use two antennas provided with the board, you need one with two antenna connectors.
Getting the wifi/BT card that comes with the board to work is possible... If you want me to I can try to dig up some
links and instructions. I have it working.

Cheers!

Wrong. It will work you need to get a adaptor which will work fine.

@ rudz : If "Getting the wifi/BT card that comes with the board to work is possible" than Yes thanks.

Thanks you all for replying, I'm buying stuff today will post build

That's the same adaptor I posted the screenshot of  But something you may need to note. The WIFI/Bluetooth card has changed the ones you buy now are from MacBook airs not from a iMac so they're small you may run into a problem mounting the card into the adaptor. Just thought I'd point that out :)

It does not fit into the mini PCIE port, and you still need a solution for the antennas.
Just because you used an adaptor for PCIE does not mean everybody wants that.

As you can see below, he is asking for a card that fits into his mini PCIE port.

There is a lot of information on half mini PCIE Wifi/BT cards in this thread:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/104850-guide-airport-pcie-half-mini-v2.html

I used RehabMan Fake PCI ID in the end:
https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Fake-PCI-ID

That might actually be enough.

And I am not sure this is required - but if your card does not offer 5 GHz afterwards, try this:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/104850-guide-airport-pcie-half-mini-v2-25.html#post772083

Before I did all this, I bought this card:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251969999335

It is supposed to work oob from what I understand - BUT, I have not found proper antenna cables that offer me three SMA-connectors on the back... If anyone has a hint... I am still using the card that was supplied with the board.

I do still have sleep issues, too ;o(

Good luck!

Look at post http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-buil...i-i5-4690-hd4600-gtx-750-ti-4.html#post937596 On Storks build. You don't need to screw the card in it'll sit in the slot just fine. Note some WIFI/Bluetooth cards are not what they say they are on websites such as eBay so be careful. http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-buil...ga-h97n-wifi-i5-4690-hd4600-gtx-750-ti-4.html
