Just remember, every since Haswell (8 & 9 series motherboards), two things are very important when deciding on your system's components.

First, make sure the memory you're considering buying for your motherboard is listed on the motherboard's memory support list. (The list's name varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Go to the motherboard's web page and select "Support." It should be listed there.)

Second, make sure the PSU is rated Haswell or 4th generation (or greater) Intel iCore processor "certified" or "ready." The PSUs listed in the tonymacx86 Buyer's Guide have that designation.

The tonymacx86 Buyer's Guide is updated by the middle of each month. Post your questions on components in the Buyer's Choice forum section.

i just finished my first build and i am having some problems getting to the instillation page. after hitting enter on clover the mac symbol shows up, a couple of seconds later a loading bar pops up and than the whole thing freezes up and i have to restart. i tried booting into safe mode and it starts to load and than crashes with this on the screen

i tried everything in the guide multiple ways with the same result and could really use some advise
my build is a gigabyte g1.sniper B7 and a 6600k with 16gb of ram

try enabling usb injection and usb ownership in the options during clover. I have an AsRock Z170 Pro4 with i5-6660k and I was seeing the exact same thing until i enabled those options. Also make sure your BIOS settings are per the recommendations here.

Hello fellas,
question to the OP: are you still planning on updating your guide to install 10.11.4?

Just finished skylake i7 6700 on GA-Z170MX Gaming 5 with 32GB DDR4 2166. The samsung 950 pro SSD and GTX 760 GPU. Everything is working: boot from 950 PRO, iMessage, appstore, airdrop, handoff everything. The WiFi and BT PCIe card is BCM94360CD 653-0014. All USB ports are working (I did not test all internal, but the one for bluetooth is working and one USB 3.0 onboard is used too and working correct speed. The USB 3.1 is on usb 2.0 speed. everything else is 100% working. It was more complicated than 4790 and 3770 machines I was doing before, but I loved this challenge! Good luck to all of you who are trying!

Can you please record a video of your boot time, opening applications and stuff like that.
Thanks!

Here is my problem. I know I'm missing something painfully, stupidly easy, but I can't figure it out. I'm using the Gigabyte z170x Gaming 7 with no add in cards,6700K and 16gb DDR4 ram. I followed this guide to the letter...

http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...ylake-titan-x-64gb-ram-ssd-2.html#post1236810

While in OS X (10.11.4) with the USB boot drive plugged in, the system automatically sees my components for what they are, including HD530 graphics, my monitor registers properly, USB's work, network, everything except sound. I continued with the post-install config using Multibeast and mounting the EFI partition, etc. Once I powered down, removed the USB stick, and powered back up I get a different looking Clover screen. In my bios I choose the UEFI drive (second SDD for El Capitan) and then when I choose the option to load from my El Cap hard drive my "About this Mac" shows generic everything. WTF? Am I supposed to keep the USB drive permanently plugged in for this thing to work? I'm so close, yet so far away, because I've been going back and forth on this for a week!

Please help and thank you in advance.

So it appears that I've figured it out. For those that are about as challenged as I am with regards to hackintoshes the EFI that is supposed to be mounted is the SYSTEM level EFI on the main drive, not the one that is on the USB drive. :banghead::crazy::headbang:
