This board had zero working usb ports and I hit the prohibited sign during install. I ended up loading the installer on an ssd and buying a PCI USB card referenced in other threads to get it going with a keyboard. I used the standard config.plist for my 970 GTX. SM Bios 5,1. I am using NV_drv=1 to get the web drivers to work, otherwise it defaults back to OS X on reboot.

Boot flags for install:
-V, cpus=1, dart=0, nv_disable=1, rootless=0

Post install after loading web drivers:
dart=0, NV_drv=1, kext_devmode=1, rootless=0

Today I found an edited dsdt for my board somewhere on the internet. After loading that in ACPI/patched and checking Drop OEM_DSM I have working USB2.

Last thing to figure out is getting the HW sensors up.

Also noticed that socket 2011 is gone from the buyers advice, is this due to the USB issues with El Cap, X99 replacing soon?

Thanks for posting. I'm about to embark on this upgrade.

I found the following prior reference to a successful Sabertooth x79 update here:
https://www.******.com/r/hackintosh...sabertooth_x79_usb2_working_on_el_capitan_gm/

Have not been able to find one where USB3 is working. I am going to follow the recipe on that link and report back.

Kind of shocked, but, after a few hours of some straightforward stuff... everything is working. I decided to follow the instructions here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...y-supported-intel-based-pc.html#install_elcap

To install, I had to use npci=0x2000 nv_disable=1 and rootless=0.

Since this was an upgrade from Chimera, I had to remove some kexts. EvOreboot.kext, GenericUSBXHCI.kext to start. Killed off some other kexts for good measure (AirParrot, etc.) Then after installing the "Post-install Tools", I had to remove the AppleIntelE1000e.kext it installed; was causing panics. And of course rebuilding the caches over a few reboots. Installed the Nvidia web drivers, and it booted fine into them after it was done.

Finally, I installed the Realtek drivers. Answered "y" to everything. Rebuilt kext cache on reboot.

Sound is working, all USB 3.0 ports are working, front audio panel is working (headphones, etc.). iMessage working fine.

I installed the full Clover package.

Problem: Sleep works, but audio doesn't come back after sleep. Will have to figure that out later, and also figure out how to boot into my Windows partition again.

EVGA GTX 770 4GB
MacPro5,1

edit: For anything that was plugged in when Sleep was initiated, USB shows those devices still on, even after unplugged.

The ****** link is where I found the patched dsdt, crucial.

The only Kexts I needed were:

FakeSMC-2
NullCPUPowerManagement
And my audio/ethernet kexts....

I updated to 10.11.1 without thinking about the web drivers. Fortunately they were out already. Installing the update breaks the web drivers, so you'll need to use nv_disable on reboot to get back in and install the new web drivers.

So Tormund, i have a few ?? about your install. I have same mobo and am trying to simply get the installer usb to boot.

First question:
you said you used full clover package. so i'm assuming you built usb using unibeast and then went back and installed full clover package onto usb. What if anything did you change / use for configuration? Was it vanilla clover install simply using the boot flags you mention?

Second question:
Which realtek drivers did you use?

Thanks in advance

I installed the full clover package after the fact. It was vanilla install.
I used these audio drivers, version 110: https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC

I can't seem to even be able to reach the Install screen. I'm not sure what might be going on, but it's frustrating. I tried all of the solutions posted here and on the main troubleshooting thread without any success.

When I boot in Verbose mode, everything stops at the Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport!

Some have pointed out that this is a GPU issue, but despite entering all sorts of Nvidia related bootlflags, I still can't manage to reach the basic Installer screen.

Any ideas?

Midphase - read OP again. Your installer quits because OS X has no working USB ports on this board. Use the patched DSDT that is linked to get the USB ports to continue working as the installer loads. Or you could use a hard drive instead of a USB stick, and get a native usb card..... I could not get the installer to run using the USB 3.0 I bought, but at least the keyboard worked after the installer finished.....

try change config :
1- for install
<key>Arguments</key>
<string>cpus=1 npci=0x3000 dart=0 nv_disable=1 rootless=1</string>

2- for loading

<key>Arguments</key>
<string>cpus=1 npci=0x3000 dart=0 nv_drv=1 rootless=1</string>

--------

from kexts .. add 2 folder with FakeSMC.kext

1- 10.11
2- other
