Hang indicates graphics is not loading

  • Integrated and discreet graphics, remove discreet graphics card; after successful install, reinstall discreet graphics
  • Integrated graphics, set config.plist/Graphics/Inject/Intel/Yes
  • Nvidia/Maxwell, set config.plist/Boot/Arguments/nv_disable=1
  • Last resort, boot safe mode

I tried nv_disable=1 to no avail. I still get the same scenario when running verbose..it stops at PCI Config and then it throws that MBCT error. When booting up in safe mode, it reboots at the same place at PCI Config.

No joy. :banghead:

tonymacx86,

Why you just ignore questions about keyboard/mouse input on 5 series motherboards??

Ignored? No. I haven't had any issues myself, but I don't use a 5 series motherboard anymore on a regular basis. My P55M worked fine in tests, although I use a Apple keyboard with its own USB hubs. Issue is likely USB/ACPI related- there are unresolved USB issues in El Capitan.

By the way, this thread is NOT for one on one specific problem solving. Please post a new thread in El Capitan Desktop Support with well worded description of the issue.

I hate to say it, but, look for other X99 reports/guides. I think it's known to be a tricky one to get working.

Any chance this thread could be made a sticky?

Yes I just did. And linked to the main installation guide under Troubleshooting and Optimizations.

The top bit you have pertains to all Core i5 and Core i7 'K' Sandy Bridge CPUs including i5-2500K and i7-2600K. The UniBeast installer for Legacy Boot Mode includes NullCPUPowerManagement. For post installation it needs a SSDT. Those SSDT options were in previous versions of MultiBeast and will be in MultiBeast 8.0.

I've got no problems. Only thing I've suffered from was the Port Restrictor due to my System definition iMac 13.2.

I am still not able to get past "can't find kernel" when I use the unibeast installer. I have created the unibeast installer on my hackintosh as well as a real macintosh. I guess I shall wait.
