Motherboard
GA-X58A-UD3R V2.0 (FH)
CPU
Intel Core i7 (First Gen)
Graphics
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
Mac
  1. MacBook Pro
Mobile Phone
  1. Android
  2. iOS
I am using (still!) the Hackintosh I built in 2010 even now. The build is exactly what was advised in CustoMac Pro 2010!

I want to increase the RAM size probably to 12GB or more (and if possible reuse the already RAM sticks I already have)!

Depending on the budget, I may also look at replacing the Graphics card too!

CPU: Intel Core i7 Processor i7-930 2,8Ghz
Motherboard: GA-X58A-UD3R LGA1366 (Ver 2.0)
BIOS Version: FH
Graphics: Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5
RAM: OCZ 6GB Triple Channel Kit DDR3 1600 MHz PC3-12800
OS: Yosemite, Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit

Please suggest the options form RAM and Graphics card.

Thanks in advance.

This sounds like an interesting project. As I own two "old" saws and the thought of making one machine that is a little more current by taking the memory from the slower one and adding it to the faster one and putting in a recent vintage GPU (I have a GTX 760 available)...

Anway I just did a web search and found a used memory kit on amazon that matches yours for under a $100. There is little or no risk purchasing through Amazon.

Good modding,
neil
