Anyone have any success with USB 3.0? I think I have everything working except my USB 3.0 ports are dead (didn't install the USB 3.0 support, just left it but native drivers don't seem to work as others have said)... (Z68X-UD3H-B3 / 8gb Vengeance / i3 3225 / HD4000 / IOGear Bluetooth)

Hi guys,

This has been my go-to thread for Yosemite on my machine, thanks for everyones contributions so far.

I'm just recently having stability issues with my Ethernet. It was fine since I got everything set up, and I've not made any changes to my installation (stil on 10.10.0, etc). I reinstalled the RealtekRTL8111 driver, but no dice. It'll connect for a few minutes and then drop.

Any ideas?

Thank you

hi.

I have no problems with my network ( with RealtekRTL8111 driver). You solved it? What's kind of issues?
But always no USB3 and iMessage ( Unibeast install).

But....

Yesterday, I wanted to install yosemite and Win8 on the same drive ( SSD) ( and UEFI). It was hard ( ****ing mbr , gpt , UEFI, etc ).
6 hours after, successful :) . For me the easy way , was to install Win8 before OS X.
Win8 works and boot with chameleon.
But OSW won't boot without the multibeast usbkey :(

To install osx, I always type the following flags: GraphicsEnabler=Yes maxmem=8192.
In OSX, I load multibeast and and I use the easyBeast and Add GraphicsEnabler=Yes , audio driver ALC889. ( When OS X is alone on the drive, it works, it boot )
Not with win8 :(

Any ideas?
thx

As for Ethernet, I'm using this kext: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Realtek-Network w/o any Problems. The kext is installed in /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext and all other network plugins deleted.

USB3.0 is still an issue. I need to boot with an USB device plugged in.

System 10.10.2 / UEFI / Clover (Clover_v2k_r3050)

At the end, My hack works. Yosemite and win8 on the same SSD.

The update 10.10.2 works as well ( from the apple menu). I only have reinstall my audio kext.

With clover , your USB3 don't works?

My final installation for people who are interested.

Further more i selected the correct output device in system preferences > sound > output.

Thank you, hieronymusdesign. I can confirm this is working on an F8 version of the mb. It kept hanging and panicking without the rollback, then power management issues. I haven't tested every aspect yet, but thus far, it's looking good.

Made the install Multibeast after upgrading my bios. Here is my setup:

GA-z68x-ud3h-b3 with UEFI
2600k i7
16gb DDR3 @ 1333MHz
Kingston SSD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 1024MB

MultiBeast Configuration - 2015-03-14 08:56:01 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Quick Start > DSDT Free

Everything works fine until I Restart. It took four installs until I could boot. Sometimes this setup will boot, and sometimes it needs my USB. During the boot process it hangs on the gray screen with the black progress bar. Turning the computer off or restarting, makes it hang indefinitely. What would be the best place to start? I'm hoping to avoid a fresh install, but if I do Clover will be a consideration if its not too hard to use.

Just boot verbose mode (-v) and check what is blocking your normal booting.

Okay here is what has happened so far. I've been rebooting and putting this thing into sleep with no issues. Probably 6-7 reboots and 4-5 sleep instances. I quit using -v because all was well so far. Finally I rebooted and got to the login screen and my Logitech mouse was frozen. This didn't happen before. Reboot in -v mode and as it was running the screen went black and the monitor clicked into sleep mode, so I don't know where it hung... unresponsive. Reboot in -v and it booted without issues. No USB was needed. I will continue to use the -v flag and will post if I see something, but any ideas in the meantime? Thanks!

Nothing will change with the flag -v. It just showing the boot steps on the screen, that's all.

Have you face any issue while installing OS X with the native 10.10's AppleACPIPlatform.kext ??
