Hello! This is my first hackintosh. Will be using Adobe Programs and having a dedicated Windows 8 SSD for gaming. This is my current parts list.

Processor: i7 4930k 3.4Ghz Hexa-Core, plan on OC it to 4.2-4.4Ghz. This used to be the 3930k.

Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth X79

Graphics Card: EVGA Geforce GTX760 Windforce. This is what I think I'm going to settle on. It was originally the 680 Windforce, but I think the 760 is the better card. Right?

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 Gigs.

Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256 Gig SSD. Bootup and Applications will be stored here. Eventually will add another for a RAID Setup. Which RAID Setup uses 2 SSD's and calls for data from both of them speeding up wright and read times?

Secondly, a HDD. WD Black 1 TB. This is for video storage.

Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series 100i.

Case: Undecided. I originally had the Fractal R4 but it will not fit the H100i. I am thinking about this case.

I don't like it for that it has a window....Is there any case recommendations that can fit a 240mm top mounted radiator? And has no window?

Fans: These fans will replace the H100i's crappy fans.

These fans will be case fans.

And they will be controlled with this cool doodad.

PSU: Corsair Professional AX760.

Question Time!
1. Is what I said about my GPU true?
2. What RAID Setup should I use with 2 SSD's?
3. I want a case that can fit the radiator up top. And has no window. Ideas?
4. Any other recommendations I should make?

I'm almost ready to buy the parts. Almost. Once I get the case I think thats all.....
Dang I'm excited! Thanks!

You have a huge amount of CPU power, but the 760 GPU is towards the lower end of 'mid-tier' of the graphics card. Don't get me wrong the 760 is a solid choice, just make sure it meets your expectation.

I guess it all depends on your level of gaming and what monitor you want to use. If you're wanting 30FPS at 1080p then this would be OK, but might struggle with anything at max setting over that resolution.

The 680 is the same card as the 770, except with some added goodies like Boost 2.0. For me, the difference in performance between the 760 and 770 made it worth the extra cost. I couldn't justify the extra price of the 780 though. The 770, I think, hit that 'sweet-spot' between cost and performance.

Interesting. I have 2 x 760's here. One is 2Gb (The dinky little MSI Gaming ITX one) and the other is a 4Gb MSI model. I use an ACD at 27" 1440p resolution. My 4Gb card flies with this, much faster than the smaller one; not sure if it is down to the extra memory, bus speeds, or both. Its definitely no slouch though!

Ah yea sorry didn't realise he was going for the 4gb version! As you say, that can really help with higher resolutions.

I guess the issue is that while you can look at benchmarks and the like, an individuals definition of 'good performance' is quite subjective. While someone might find 30FPS while on medium settings completely fine, another might only be satisfied with an average of 60FPS on ultra.

Also brings up another debate...if you are only going with 1080p, is it worth going for the 4gb 760, or sticking with a 2gb 770? Seems to be a big division in opinion on this!

Food for thought maybe...don't want to derail the thread into a GPU debate!

I think his selected card should be ok. Ive seen various debates too; the professional review sites seem to suggest that 2Gb is enough for 1080p, and the 4Gb models for anything above. Like you said though, its very subjective.

I think the OP chosen card should do well for his setup though :)

Most likely! Perhaps I am trying to justify my purchase more than anything...!

I've probably never used more than 4gb or RAM in my life...yet, when I started to build my PC, suddenly I couldn't live without anything less than 16gb...

Forgot to check my own thread....oops. Well I switched my 760 to the 770 4gb Windforce. I am running a 4k monitor as daily use, but will go down to 1080 to game. Unless I get a SLI setup in the future.

And thanks for the case advice, I can't decide if I want the 400r or the case your recommended. I am split completely 50/50. The Enthoo looks better IMO but the 400r has more room, and more fans.
