Successful Installation Requirements
- To see Apple's System Requirements for successful installation, see OSX System Requirements.
In order to successfully install OSX on your hackintosh using the IBoot + MultiBeast Method, your system must meet the following requirements:
- Intel Core, Core2, or Core-i3/i5/i7 processor. Pentium 4 have been known to work.
- Intel-socket motherboard, capable of HPET-64 bit and AHCI mode on SATA ports (most modern motherboards).
- Optical drive to run IBoot.
- Set SATA ports to AHCI mode in your BIOS.
- Enable HPET in your BIOS and set it to 64-bit.
Usage
There are two methods to get your hackintosh up and running. The DSDT method outlined below is the more preferable method as it involved installing less kexts and enables a more 'future proof' system as kexts can be overwritten when performing system updates. However if you cannot find a DSDT file for your system then please select EasyBeast below as this will still allow your hackintosh to run but some extra kexts are needed to get it working properly.
NOTE with both the below methods - audio, graphics and network will have to be enabled separately using further options in MultiBeast.
Choose one of the following options directly following a fresh installation and update:
UserDSDT is a bare-minimum solution for those who have their own pre-edited DSDT. Please head to the TonyMac DSDT Database for a pre-edited DSDT for a large number of Motherboards. Download the DSDT file and the file (such as DSDT-GA-X58A-UD3R-2.0-FE.aml) on the desktop before install.
EasyBeast is a DSDT-free solution for any Core/Core2/Core i system. It installs all of the essentials to allow your system to boot from the hard drive. Some kexts are automatically installed to enable proper shut down, sleep, and other core functionality.
