I am using this setup since January 24, 2014 as daily life how I would like using a different Software other than Windows 8.1 all the time. So far I love it.

I started this build early of last year, February 2013. I wanted a PC that I can do anything to it without being slow of what I usually wanna do with it. Like hacking/modding/games/programs. And my laptop wasn’t doing good bc it was always slow, no matter what I do to it even if my ram were at 4-8gigs.

So it was time for the upgrade and a change of pace, something different that I hadn’t used in a very long time like all my life since I was very little since windows 95 that i can remember but something else that I knew only a little knowledge of witch was using one of the very first shaped Apple Computer back in 2nd grade. 95-96.

I build this system because I wanted a system that I can take to the extreme without having any issues to it and without any programs add ons that came with a normal Windows PC (Tiger) Would. (sry for my sense of humor, lol) Something worth wild to boost my life experience a whole lot better than all the dial-up speeds that a windows had ever haved. Since Windows always lacked in speeds for so much info that Windows needs when with a OS X, there's more but less & combined making less space than what it really needs.

The reason I chose MicroCenter is because those are the most expensive parts of the main system that could get damage during shipping. Since I live 30 mins from one, I went down there instead & a big discount on both & possibly the same way for when I eventually do decide which graphics card I'm getting.

Took me a few hours since this is my 1st build either if it were Windows PC or Linux.

The Case I picked out is a nice look for me that would multimedia & multitask a lot of things which ever the case maybe on witch OS I’m going to install, if it were either Windows XP, 7, or even 8.1. but since I knew in time I was gonna get OSX on this machine, I wanted to look good and confined space with nothing but cool air all the way with not much of any heat whats so ever and have it breath as well instead of all the clutter of a normal pre-built pc would and having more heat to the system & pressure than what was actually needed except for maybe a little overclocking it. Looked cool to have OSX plus other OS to this system looking like what it is. And didn’t want a fancy case either besides the fact that there overpriced with the sweet nice design they created. Heck, my friend was blown-ed away what specs was in this case. Expect the unexpected.

The motherboard I picked has a Air-Flow system to pass the cool air to all the other particles to keep them cool that has A++ Performance from the board than any other motherboard’s you find online without being to costly either. Getting this from Micro-Center is like one of the greatest and tastes place to get your hands on it without waiting for shipping.

The CPU I picked is the highest for my mobor I got and for having overclock, I want to have the advantage for having it later in life when I do wanting it to have more of the speed I’m running it at now.

The H100i Water Cooler I heard is really great for over clocking past 4.5, I wonder if I can get it to the max of this CPU to 4.9. Why? Why not! It’s there for you to use and why not to take the advantage of it but since the other specs I Have, people from PPP forums say that I should expect a little more out of it.

16GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600MHz because i got a great deal when when it was very low without these high prices.

Graphics, haven’t gotten my graphics card yet but between EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB & GeForce GTX 780 Ti.

SSD to boost my system performance to even more to actually feel like an actual MAC.

HDD, I’m loyal to Seagate Barracuda to be one of the best drives out there.

ROM, I like the Asus brand to make one of the best hardware you can get, like to have the extra features later in life that this one has like the Blu-Ray 3D & without costing near $100 for one.

Monitor, I got this one way to early before I got even 5% of my build done but for my laptop to display on a bigger screen but now I wish i got something different like the one I have displayed above.

3D Screen but might have to upgrade my Graphics card along with my Rom I’m getting and possible not getting a 1444p 4K screen thou even thou I would love to but dam expensive thou.

A internal wireless adapter makes more sense than an actual USB that sticks in one of your USB and hangs on your desk to be accidentally get knocked over for whatever reason to just have less of a hassle than it real is bc half if not all I have never seen a wireless card for USB 3.0, always 2.0. The last USB 2.0 adapter I have says it goes 300MBS when its stuck on 144.5MBS on an Apple Extreme 5G when its right next to another pc I plugged into to test it. A fail device. Besides the fact that this part I’m getting is part of the list for TonyMacx86 2013-2014 build list. How Ironic.

The Case Fans I obtain thought it fits the actual case at first but I’m good with it for now, might change it to the actual size later in life goes on.

The Fan Splitters really works like a charm to fit all my fans in 4 slots on the mobor minus the CPU FAN and the OPT FAN.

Going with this Bluetooth Device since it has the next gen in it.

Preferably to me, I rather get the next Gen stuff than the old ones even thou the old ones may come out in handy to other people and including my self but with PC’s? I can’t say.

Took me for almost a year to gain the money since owning a cat and the job I was working with wasn’t good but least my other job is a whole better with more $$ in my pocket to spend but also helped that I waited when the 4Gen came out which is 20x better than the last build I was getting but more better out of it but the same money when discounts and low prices during the 2013 year.

If you wait and save for a long time, you might get something more whats coming later than getting it all at once. Heck, if i didn’t rescue this poor kitty thats nearly to death seeing her bones, I would’ve obtain 3rd Gen slow as a whistle but the right case thou. But yes, she is healthy now but still have problems with her but loves to play & purr a lot.

This is my Pre-Installation Setup

I updated the UEFI to the latest version,

I Optimization Default (F5) & Saved Changes

I Access UEFISet to set X.M.P. Memory to Profile 1

I couldn’t locate if my CPU supported VT-d to be set to disabled

BIOS VERSION : 2002

Trying to boot up Mavericks after installing it was the problem of getting !OUT OF RANGE! Went in safe mode and did the rest there and boot it up & actually finally successfully done it, booting up without safe mode. I don’t remember what I did since Oct 31, 2013 but this drive I made worked.

I used to be able to jump right into the installation with no problems of

or a
-Do Not Enter- symbol.

Asus Sabertooth z87 4Gen Motherboard

So there ya have it.

Conclusion
Everything is working like a charm! I love my new computer. This is my first Hackintosh build. This build is absolutely perfect for producing media and gaming. I would recommend it to everybody who wants a very fast PC for daily use which doesn't cost 3k or more like the Mac Pro does.

Wish I obtain better fan for the case & the case itself for USB 3.0, but there was no other case I liked that wasn’t so expensive and had a nice look to it.

At its beginning stage, the fan cases fully match the size of the square but least I am still able to add them to the case with the extra smaller screw holes the case has to screw them to. (~~ik, bad karma!~~)

Here are my Geekbench 2 (64 bit) results without overclocking the CPU
(I will overclock it soon once I get a very good water cooler)

Plus without having a video card just yet so that why for not the score where its so pose to be at.

I'll update the geek later once getting the rest of my parts later.

I’m impressed with the speeds I’m getting from a Samsung 840 Pro 128GB Series.

Really cool build my friend. I've been looking into building a hackintosh and these specs look perfect for my needs (gaming, media editing). Thanks for sharing. I might borrow some of your ideas, with your permission of course.

Sure, not a problem, make sure you get a Case that has USB 3.0 headers:headbang:

Everyone should make a duplicate like except for what they want to add adjustments and such.

Motherboard Supports 4K Display to let ya know.

I brought this to hear bc I didn't get anything over google with this motherboard and wanted to see if this were possible to do.

PS. just noticed that i screwed up my sound thou, should be ACL1150 NOT ALC 892

it works i have it just have to tweek it thinking about makeing a smalll crapintosh for the living room

Well since I had Windows 8.1, I updated my BIOS since i couldn't get it to work and didn't try again till months later until I got my self an SSD. I tried it first with an HDD, so idk what to expect.

Other than I couldn't get RAID to work so I guess reason lead to why my map of location doesn't work and the raid restore/bkup either. ifrgt what it was called, so I don't have raid in this machine bc when I tried following some youtube videos of different pc's, I couldn't continue with adding raid, it was disabled so I didn't get why I couldn't continue.

When setting up the usb device, if I remember right, did you changing anything of

Finder>Mac>OS X>Extra

"org.chameleon.Boot.plist" or "smbios.plist"?

So pose to do something to them to make a copy from your original mac and edit them in the USB installation.

Also, if you haven't yet, you also need to add BootLoader in the USB and not in any folder to get the installation to show when turning ur pc on.

should see this screen from loading USB.

Hey!

I see that you use the H100i.

I just read that the H100i is connected via usb to the mb. That's the reason for a instant wake up after going in sleepmode. Is this issue fixed? I see so many builds with the h80i or h100i but never see them complaining about this. Maybe I'm not up to date, I hope so..:D

Haven't gottn it yet bc I'm waiting for prices to drop other than i mist it by a day or so when it was off of PPP witch is a pc builder website, but hear other people having success on it. I'm hoping that it'll show the wifi part in the menu task-bar without any other extra program being opened saying it is connected like my crappy defective usb wifi I have. So I'm connecting to a linksys by LAN with dd-wrt connecting wirelessly to my Apple Router.

goto 3:00 till 3:54 and keep watching till it shows wifi signals.

Hoping its easy as this youtuber seems to put it.

Like I said, this is my first Hackintosh, My first OSX is OSX Mavericks

I'm troubleshooting to boot 10.9.2, worked fine in 10.9 to 10.9.1

I've gottn to 4.5GHz w/ UEFI BIOS Version: 1504 to 1704 :headbang:

Temperature Program: HWMonitor 6.0.1148

With a perfect boot up 10.9 & 10.9.1

Taken advantages of the ICS & the other option for improving drives within the UEFI BIOS

Having difficulties booting up 10.9.2 but boots up in safe mode.
