I've been using this build for a year now, since it was just a budget computer after graduating from college and I used it for pretty much everything, from hardcore gaming to Photoshop. I have always used a MacBook Pro and I just don't feel comfortable using windows, the productivity simply drops when using windows and thus I stumbled upon the tonymacx86 forums, a few weeks back I registered here as I became interested in running OSX on a PC and now I've got 10.9 Mavericks running flawlessly.

Are you the kind of guy who can not afford a 2500$ Mac and only has the budget for a mid-range computer that has a lot of bang for buck? then this build is just PERFECT for you.

BIOS Settings
Loaded Optimized defaults
Set SATA to AHCI
Internal Graphics: PEG
Onboard Graphics: Disabled
HPET: Enabled

What doesn't work

HDMI audio, There might be a fix around but since I have no interest in it I didn't even bother looking at it.
[FIXED]Bootloader; In order to fix the boot0 error you will have to follow this guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/401-install-bootloader-extra-efi-partition.html

Take in mind that I had ZERO Experience with Hackintosh before I started this and I managed to get it working in just a few days. ( 2 weeks in total if you count the time that I had to wait for my Snow Leopard installation disk to get delivered )If i can do this, ANYONE CAN.

Hey peacefulwilly! Great build and awesome post. Been waiting FOREVER for something like this. Ive been running the same board as you for awhile now and i got mavericks to run but im having some issues with my board and i have a few questions. If you have the time, i would appreciate your knowledge greatly because you are really the only one able to help me out!

my build:

GAH61M-DS2 (REV 2.2)

Core i5 2500k @3.3ghz

8gb corsair

EVGA GeForce 210 1024mb (fully functional with issues)

So peacefulwilly, like i said running mavericks everything is great but i have issues. My bios is at F7 and i know there is an F8 but i flashed it before and had worse problems within OSX so i went back to F7. Anyway, my main issue is that, my system will not power down correctly (it idles after screen goes black from shutting down and doesnt turn off) and my most desired question to find an answer to is this, Why is it that i CANT boot into bios from my GeForce 210? It will never show the bios up, i have to do it thropugh VGA in my HD3000 onboard graphics. This is so frustrating and it makes me so mad. I cant find the answer.

Any suggestions?
Please, i appreciate the post and mad respect. I need help and cant find answer :p i dont wanna seem desperate. Keep up the good work. Hope to hear from you!

@the consumer1,

Your HD3000 graphics are more powerful than the GT210 graphic card that you have in your build. To put it in perspective a GT610 is on a par with your HD3000.
More information on this wide subject is reproduced here:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/...-right-now-hierarchy-chart-toms-hardware.html
As an additional note on the GT210 - I have been seeing a few have problems with some the 1024MB memory versions of the GT210. The 512MB versions appear to be working fine.

Hi, Adrian. Thanks for the reply. But I was never able to get the proper res with my HD3000 in Mountain Lion. Therefore I did not bother with it anymore and got my Gt210. Besides, that still leaves me stumped with my question. If I can get the GT210 to work, why not use it? I just am ahving troubles in the bios. Thanks

Try to disconnect the power cord for 30 seconds and see if you can then get into the bios after rebooting. It might not work - but try it to see.

Hey Adrian, I found out what the problem is. I did some deeper research. And apparently it has to do with a lot of gigabyte boards. But I cannot access the bios with my GPU because my desktop is connected to my TV (37 inch) and apparently TVs are large for the GPU to be able to boot it into the bios. I dont know the technical side of things but thats the results im gettng.. However I am getting a 23 inch monitor soon so I will report back and also make a post to inform the community. Thanks for you help

also the boot0 error has been fixed and does not require a boot with a UniBeast USB drive anymore!
follow this guide: Install Bootloader and Extra to EFI Partition

Hi peacefulwilly ,
can you please tell me how you installed mavericks? What flags you used?
I have the same CPU and GPU with a Ga-Z68P-DS3 mobo.
It hangs at the beginning of the installation and says it because of AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.
I Have tried with the 7770 and with the card removed

Regards

EDIT:
Nevermind, I recreated the USB with UniBeast and worked
