It would help if you list your motherboard model in your system settings on the left or in your signature. (I notice it in the thread title, but still...)

There are a variety of approaches. For a H87N-WIFI I edited my DSDT to remove unneeded USB2 entries and make more space for USB3 entries under the port limit, and that worked. Depending on the current state of your board, you might be able to use kext injectors, SSDT or DSDT changes, config.plist patches, or whatever. But the process of figuring all that out is a little involved. Best case is somebody else with the same board figures it out for you.
