Hi,
Thanks to the community for all the guidance and help getting this set up. Already at this early stage it is clearly very stable.
My system is as above,
Z490 Aorus Elite AC
i7 10700K
Crucial Ballistic 2x8gb DDR4-3600
XFX RX 5600 XT
I have followed the Opencore guide and have had some success.
What's working:
Realtek RTL 8125B 2.5Gb LAN
On-board Wifi
Audio
iMessage
What's not working so far:
Firewire device - Firewire card and connected audio interface visible, but not available to select.
Apple TV
STILL TO DO:
USB Mapping,
Bluetooth (I have the onboard as well as a dongle - haven't got to either. Will update)
Opencanopy, but not a priority at this time. Figure I'd wait until 0.6.8.
So my questions are about the following:
1) OS seems a little sluggish. Like, a half-second delay before a right-click menu, or in particular, a similar delay in System Preferences when selecting. Anyone else had this or am I missing something?
2) My RAM is running at 2666MHz - I imagine this is capped?
I didn't find any guide here with my specific hardware so I figured someone might find this useful. If anyone has tips/suggestions/fixes I'd be happy to hear it. First time with OC and Python etc, so there'll be things I don't know I don't know... ya know?
Cheers
UPDATE 3 April '20:
- Firewire is now working. Running an audio interface just fine.
- OS is not sluggish anymore. I don't remember what changed that but def something in the config file.
- RAM is now running at 3600MHz.
- Bluetooth dongle is working although it seems a little erratic. I've been able to connect to my phone and airpods.
- No sign of life from the onboard Bluetooth.
- Updated Geekbench score screenshots below.
