No luck with sound on my P55M-UD2. I used multibeast to select my realtek ALC888b legacy driver, but it did not work. Anyone else having problems?

I have the same problem but in my case I installed the 892 driver.

No output device in system preferences!

I took a look at Toleda's guide.... call me stupid but I just can't comprehend what I should do with it...

What I did comprehend is that that guide is only useful when you have chosen the wrong audio driver upon multibeast installation. my MOBO def uses the 892! Worker for me on Lion, MLion and Mavericks... Doesn't work on Yosemite...

Also, I checked my org.chameleon.Boot.plist... only kernel flag in it is kext-dev-mode=1

Any help would be much appreciated...

Kind Regards

G

No one can help you when no one but you knows what you did.
Here is a hint: in the linked thread, Post #1, find "Problem Reporting".

Toleda,

I think I was clear about what I did... But maybe I should make it even more clear

1. I successfully installed Yosemite
2. Run multibeast, installed easybeast
3. Restarted and load successfully Yosemite with Chimera
4. Run multibeast, went to drivers-->audio-->Realtek ALCxxx-->ALC 892. Build-->Install
5. Restarted
6. No Audio and No Audio Output Devices in System Preferences

My Mobo is MSI P67A-GD55 and as you can see in the following link it uses ALC 892!

http://eu.msi.com/product/mb/P67AGD55.html#hero-specification (hit the details tab under specifications)

As I said in my previous post, the ALC892 driver worked for me on Lion, MLion and Maverics in the past.

Also I don't use any DSDT

Should you need any other info I ll be glad to provide it.

Any help will be much appreciated

Thank you in advance

Regards

G

I'm having the same problem.

In my previus Maverick Install, I used a 892 driver from Multibeast 6.4.1 I guess. It was the only way that 892 audio drivers work.

Now, audio drivers from latest multibeast are not working.

I did the exact same thing as I did for Mavericks. I even used the same multibeast file. Drivers-->Realtek with DSDT-->ALC887/888b Legacy v100202. I should note I have a fusion drive. (Had one with the Mavericks install, too.)

Attached is my IOJones file, dsdt, DPCIManager screen, and chameleon plist.

Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for your help.

I even used the same multibeast file. Drivers-->Realtek with DSDT-->ALC887/888b Legacy v100202.
Bad idea. Use MultiBeast 7.0 for Yosemite.
Screenshot shows no codec, something changed. No audio until OS X sees a codec.
