Xeon or Core i7 Bloomfield

I posted a build Nehalem based but I've not bought anything yet. Is it worth to go Xeon W3530 and ECC ram insted of Core i7 960 and normal ram with a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R? I mean I'll be doing some editing work with Final, Adobe CS5 suite, Aperture and ocasional gaming.

I would say you should go with the i7. The Xeon is intended for servers.

can that board even accept ecc ram in the first place?

Core i7 Bloomfield and Intel Xeon W3xxx are the exact same processor acutally, only diferents clocks and the main difference is that the Xeon supports ECC. I don't know if the board supports ECC. Otherwise my question is it wroth to get ECC ram?
