Hi,

I have made a new machine with this specs (This is my first X79 hack):

OS: 10.8.4
MOBO:X79s UP5 bios F4w
CPU:i7 3930K
RAM: 32 = 4x8GB
GPU:Gigabyte Nvidia Gtx 660 2 GB
SSD: 120 GB Samsung 840

Install Method:

Unibeast ( Retail Mountain Lion 10.8.4)

Then reinstall Combo Update 10.8.4 ( alway do for safety cause I had some issues before)

Multibeast

Boot flag: cpus=1 npcix3000

CPU performances with Geekbench are very low 6000 points ( should be at least 16.000 I guess)

Audio isn't working either.

in System preferences No AUDIO DEVICE detected

Any suggestions?

install the voodoo kext to desktop then run kextbeast then edit the .plist in extra folder with flag npci=0x3000 reboot when done.boot with no flags note the 6870 has no support till ml 8.4 and iffy at that

6870 support is not "iffy" at all, works fine with 10.8.4, just causes some grief during install... Of course this is irrelevant as your post clearly says using GTX 660.

missed the 660 saw the profile 6870 bfd GraphicsEnabler=No

I' have installed the voodoo kext ( the flag npci=0x3000 was already in my .plist as I edited myself previously)

but still getting low benchmark and no audio

make a SSDT.aml with prgen may work like on sb and ib note your mobo uses alc898 if toledas audio isnt working try voodoo hda after install repair perms and rebuild cache with dpcimanager from tmx site

make a SSDT.aml with prgen may work like on sb and ib

Making a SSDT will not improve the score, it enables mid performance ranges within the CPU so that the CPU isn't at low or high all the time. Giving consistent usage to the overall power.

Hi, Thanks a lot for your help.

According to few advices it seems that making a SSDT is not a good idea for X79.

So.

Here's my Geekbench screenshot ( maybe it can help)
CPU: 0
Cores :1
Threads:1

So it should be an issue somewhere.

I've tried to change CPU bios settings but it didn't change the geekbench score.

Hi,

I have found some solutions:

1. Audio: You have to delete the HDAEnabler1.kext in S/L/E and then Use the AppleHDA.Kext and the 4.6.1 Multibeast Audio Kext WithoutDSDT ALC898 in order to get full audio.

2.Benchmark :

I was getting Low benchmark cause I had to remove the

the flag cpus=1 ( I didn't know you needed only for the first boot).

Once removed the cpus=1 all the 6 cores are recognized.

Now I'm getting 18.000 @ 4.2 ghz.

I Think is not very good cause some people are over 20.000.

How is it possible?
