Motherboard
Gigabyte Z87X-OC Force-CF
CPU
i7 4770k
Graphics
GTX 760
Mac
  1. iMac
  2. MacBook Pro
Mobile Phone
  1. iOS
So I'm building a new workstation and would like to make it a Mackintosh.
It is meant mainly for video editing and rendering.

Intel Core i7-7820X 3.6GHz 8-Core Processor
Corsair H115i 104.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Gigabyte X299 AORUS Ultra Gaming ATX LGA2066 Motherboard
2x Corsair Vengeance LED 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
Western Digital Blue 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Western Digital Blue 6TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB AORUS Xtreme Edition 11G Video Card
NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

So my main question is, is this build compatible to be used as a Hackintosh?
And if so should I need to know anything specific like drivers/edits/boot flags?

Does anyone have a guide for this setup or a similar setup that I could use?

Thanks in advance for further information.

If the WD 6GB HDD is for data, I would recommend not using a 5400 RPM drive. Get the fastest you can find...unless you'll be using your working data files on the SSD and using the HDD for storage after the work is done.

Good luck! Welcome to the Forum!

P.S. Read the Forum's Rules & Policies. Violation of a couple of them will get you suspended or banned.

Thanks for the suggestion, the 6TB is indeed mainly for data files, but I might indeed look into a higher RPM. I guess 7200 would be sufficient? Like a WD Black or WD Gold? Any suggestions in that?

Any other suggestions regarding the build besides the hard drive?

Either way thanks for the information!

PS: Thanks for the heads up, I pretty much copied PC Pickers BB Code in here, but that might indeed have been a mistake. Thanks for mentioning and also fixing!

No native support is available in MacOS for the X299 platform you want to use at this time. You will have to search in the forums for others who use this platform and have success in installing MacOS.
