Nope, just tryed after saw your post and still having same issues...

I am running with a 970, but everything is fine, mid 90's for FPS. I am using the latest web drivers and I also have the latest CUDA drivers installed. WoW is also up to date and on new xpac.

I had an issue with black screen when I started WoW right after I got my computer up and running, I had to delete and re-download and everything worked fine, I reckon there was some hiccup in the download and a bad file (I tried repair client as well, but it never showed anything).

If you have the time and a good internet connection I'd suggest re-downloading the game client and see if that helps at all.

The Mac side of WoW is a bit in shambles at the moment as previously mentioned, I was reading a bunch on the forums and it seems there is a SERIOUS lack of Mac dedicated employee's at blizz (I want to say I remember reading there was only 1 person qualified to work on the mac client... ridiculous!).

HOWEVER, if its working fine for myself and others there is no reason it shouldn't for you.

I read that they have or had only one person working on the Mac graphics engine. I think I read Blizzard is hiring more Mac engineers especially for the latest greatest version of OpenGL. Which indicates they have plans for upgrading the Mac graphics engine for WoW sometime in the future.

@ziratta Bummer man! Maybe try @spballer's suggestion and re-download/reinstall.

yeah, thats what I read as well... I find that super crazy! If I was qualified I'd be all over that like a hobo on a porkchop! Working for blizz would be so fun (I used to know a GM, he said it was the best job he ever had, sounded tremendously awesome).

Hopefully they find some qualified people soon, I'd like to feel a little less abandoned haha

Thanks for all the info guys.

I've contacted with Blizzard regarding the issues i have, here's their so to speak "offical" explanation about this issue;
"
Tech Specialist Game Master Zezzen here at your service.

Thank you for reporting this info back to us. We have seen discrepencies in the way Macs and our game are interacting with each other which has caused a lot of false readings. Of course, running your CPU at 140% capacity is possible, but it's very dangerous to your hardware and you'd be noticing other effects outside of the game such as overheating and computer crashes.

That's most likely not the case, but rather the Mac OS and game are pumping out wrong numbers. We've been working to fix this as have Apple. We're hoping to see significant improvements with our next major patch as well as Mac OS X 10.10.2.

Definitely keep us in the loop if you come across anything else by posting on the forums. That way other players can see this info and check their own computers to verify and share further. The more people testing and sharing results the better.

If you have any further questions about this or any other issue feel free to hit us up by replying to this message or opening a new ticket! We monitor player reports 24 hours a day 7 days a week!"

Seems like i'll be keeping my lovely windows for a while.

Anyways, thanks a lot guys and i'll be keeping you all informed if i got any update regarding the issue.

Final update;

WoW is running "sort of" smoothly right now. After this weeks stealth patch, it's all fine as long as i tune those 2 settings;

- View Distance : Fair
- Shadow Quality : Good

I can easily get over 60 FPS on open areas and 90+ FPS on raids (with 20+ players).

Hey there,
I'd successfully installed OS X Yosemite on my system with those setup;

Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H
Intel i7 4790K
16GB 1600 Mhz ram
EVGA GTX980

Hello, i have the exact same configuration, but i am not able to boot without :
-x nv_disable=1

I used Unibest/Multibeast, and tried to install Nvidia web driver but didn't work when i click to nvidia panel in preference pane it won't launch.

Can you tell me what method did you use to make it work ?
thanks

Everything is fine except World of Warcraft. I've even tried Heroes of Storm just be sure that my GPU is working and it was working fine on Extreme settings but whenever i try to play WoW (which basically is the only game i play) i'm getting around 20-30 FPS in my garrison. After 2 days of research i give up and asking for help.

Anyone knows what to do or anyone having the same problem?

Hey, I have tested WOW on my hackintosh too. Well, I have the same FPS as you did. I also tested World of Tanks, same bad performance. However, Diablo III seems to be OK under extreme settings. StarCraft II works very well and extreme settings in single player mode, but the performance drops down sharply when I was playing multi-players games while the battle was furious and the number of target was countless.

I help my experience would be helpful. Mac OS is not designed for Game.

@kwenji

I'm setting up an extremely detailed build guide with overclocking rightnow and hoping to publish it in a few days ;)

@TomHsiung
My experience is different now, after a few tweaks on View Distance and Shadows, i'm getting almost the same performance on Windows.

As i mentioned on my previous post, i'll be setting up an extremely detailed build guide in a few days and sharing my experience with proof ;)
