First off, NEVER name the Mac OS X partition on a secondary hackintosh "Macintosh HD" when I went to plug it in to my main hackintosh and install something with the install media to that secondary disk i wiped my real "Macintosh HD" in my primary hackintosh. Anyway, the tool I used was testdisk to recover my partition. It is a command line tool, but it walks you through and it is very easy to use. Best to unplug your drive IMMEDIATELY after partition loss so no new blocks get written over it. This saved me from a reinstall + restore from backup! *note* this cannot be run to recover something on your boot disk. You must use it with a spare mac or hack to get that done. It is also open source
