Hi,
I've just finished a fresh install of El Capitan on my system, everything is running perfectly.
The only trouble I have is that when I plug my external hard drive, on usb 3 ports, it just does not detect it / mount it.
On USB 2 it works.

I never had this issue before with yosemite.

I've done some searches and saw some very long and complicated post about injecting I don't know what, I'm not very familiar with all this so any help would be welcome :)

many thanks

yeah thanks rehabman, that's what I was referring to in my initial post.

I don't understand this topic I'm not sure what a DSDT is ( except that " DSDT contains information on USB ports, and ports on built-in USB hubs" ), My BIOS settings are correct...
My usb3 ports works for my keyboard or mice, so I guess they work ?

Reading the topic (read all, thanks a lot btw!), , I don't know what to do concretely, I just guess something like that :

Specific Recommendations (7-series, 8-series, 9-series, X99)

Do the EHCx->EH0x rename. It is a no-brainer first step.

but I don't really understand the process described above in the post :(

does everybody installing el capitan on their hackintosh had to go through this big process ?
many thanks
