I used Unibeast to setup a Yosemite USB flash drive, it wouldn't boot, giving me the error message Boot Failed, i messed with BIOS Settings and got it to say some other things and sometimes it would just jump back to the boot selection screen. Couldn't figure it out so i decided i would pull out an old laptop i had lying around that has a newer BIOS and Motherboard, bam it booted into the boot loader, not issues at all. So my question is why won't it boot on my desktop, is there a BIOS setting that might be stopping it? my system is
Intel DG41TY Motherboard
4GB DDR2 800 Ram
Nvidia 9600 GSO
formatted 250GB HD
Not sure what type of BIOS it is, and doesn't give me a lot of options to set it up, it has some things i thought might be incompatible but I'm not sure, XD which is enabled, UEFI is enabled but when its disable i can't even see my USB drive in the boot settings, HPET, and some other things i can't think of off the top of my head. If anyone can think of why it won't boot and let me know. Please help me i really want to get OS X setup on my desktop! I am starting to think it has something to do with my motherboard or bios settings. But i can't for the life of me figure it out or whats causing the issue
