I ordered a BCM94322MC 'Apple' network card; installed it in a mini PCI-e card and put it in my hack. 'About this Mac' seems to show it as a network card under WIFI, but can't get Airport installer to recognize the card.

Any suggestions? Could the card be defective? I ordered a Hong Kong ebay BCM94321MC card replacement, but it won't get here for another few weeks. Is there anything else I can try? I guess that I am assuming that the mini PCI-e card is OK because the Broadcomm shows up in the 'About this Mac.' Am I wrong?

Thanks!

This morning I started over. I removed the PCIe card, disassembled the whole thing, and used a pencil eraser on the contacts. I Then cleaned all the contacts with alcohol and reassembled. I moved the PCI–e card to another slot and reinserted it.

There was no change on the reboot when I consulted “about this Mac” however it started work. My connection is now listed as an AirPort Extreme connection. I'm getting roughly 250 Mbits per second.

Wonder what fixed it?

Thanks
