Hi,

I've never built a PC before but have some experience in exchanging components in several Mac models (from 7100 to my MBP). There still remain some questions. I'm considering to build my next machine with these parts, most of which i took off the 2012 buyer's guide:

Case: Lian Li PC-6B
Power supply: be quiet! Straight Power BQT E9 400W
Motherboard: GA-Z77X-UP5-TH
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 with Noctua NH-C12P SE14
RAM: Corsair DIMM 16 GB DDR3-1600 Kit
WLAN: TP-LINK TL-WDN4800
HDDs: Sandisk SSD 2,5" 256 GB

My questions:
As far as I understand this will work without DSDTs?
Is the power supply sufficient if I want to add a graphics card (to speed up Photoshop) later?

Some general questions about Hackintoshes that bug me:
Do all key combinations at startup, like resetting PRAM, Target Disk Mode work?
Does iTunes work as expected with iPads and iPhones?
Are there parts of OS X that definitely won't work?

Thanks for every hint,
Donaldo

Motherboard > Most of the new motherboards works without a DSDT. Suggest you check

Power supply > If you have plans to install a GPU soon then i suggest you invest little extra money and buy a good PSU a little higher wattage.

CPU > Ok
RAM > Ok
SSD > OK
WiFi > OK

There is nothing called resetting PRAM on a hackintosh.
All the software that work on a real mac should work well on a hackintosh.
