Why can't I change my serial number?

Okay, so I've imported my config.plist file into Clover Configurator after mounting my EFI partition and used the SMBIOS section to change my serial and then exported the config file to my existing one and replaced it, but it doesn't work. Why?

I DID know how to do this, but memory loss is a horrible thing to have.

Oh, and I've read all of the "Fix iMessage" post's and it didn't help me. I need just a quick guide on how to use Clover Configurator to do this.

Nevermind, I figured you that you have to reboot for it to take effect after changing it. Then I ran into a nice problem where my HDMI display didn't look right so I went in Clover Configurator and made every setting like it was in the previous config.plist file and now it's perfect.
