Hi,

I've installed SL 10.6.3 retail on my PC and I'm getting a reboot loop exactly like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeXN8KqY23A. I can only run SL with iBoot.

Here are the steps I took to build my Hackintosh.

System specs:

Gigabyte Z68P-DS3 motherboard (recommended on this site in the newest CustoMac build recommendations)
Seagate Barracuda 1TB (plugged into Sata 2 port)
DVD burner (plugged into Sata 2 port)
i7 2600 CPU
PQI DDR3 4GB ram
Asus GT 240 (EN240 Silent) GPU

I used the iBoot + Multibeast method to install SL.

- Successfully booted into SL
- Used Multibeast ticking User DSDT (Gigabyte Z68P-DS3 Bios F3 obtained from the DSDT database on this site) and also ticked system utilities.
- Installed update helper
- Rebooted without iBoot and the reboot looping began
- Tried booting into SL with iBoot and was successful
- Installed 10.6.8 combo update and rebooted with iBoot
- Now I get stuck at a white screen with the grey Apple logo when booting with iBoot. If I boot without iBoot it gets to the white screen with the Apple logo too. However this time it doesn't freeze and I see the loading dial under the Apple logo and it's moving. The screen then goes black and it reboots.
- I can boot with the -x flag

Here's some pictures of the text that appears when booting with the -v flag.

The first image is the first piece of text that shows. The second image is the second piece of text that shows. I'm pretty sure there's more text above in the second photo but I couldn't take a picture fast enough.

Really not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Why am I getting a reboot loop?

probably the 1 tb disc as SL installation are tested with 520 GB only. and there could be possibility of i7 since very advanced architecture to SL 10.6.3.

boot with -v option and try to figure out what part of booting is caused reboot. then we can figure out.

for easy steps try lion with unibeast installation.

I'd install Lion but there's some apps I use that don't work on Lion yet.

Re: Why am I getting a reboot loop?

i have the same issue, sl keeps looping unless i run the iboot disk, i think it might have something to do with the org.chameleon.boot.plist because iboot uses v2.0 i think and the bootloader i got from multibeast 3.9 is 1.5 or something

i really dont have a clue how to go about fixing this anyone have any ideas?

(i used the dsdt.aml from the site and uploaded it into chameleon) no use
its a h55m-d2h i5 650

any help would be amazing

Re: Why am I getting a reboot loop?

Everything seems to be working now. I didn't change anything so I'm not sure why it's stopped the loop rebooting. All I did after it started the loop rebooting was then run it in -v mode a couple of times, then safe mode -x (all WITHOUT the iBoot disc). I shut it down in safe mode and then powered it up and for some reason it got past the white/grey logo screen. Weird.

that is very strange... but, glad it's all working fine :) you really should consider Lion though... that system seems more than capable...

didnt work, it wouldnt even go into v mode... i give up...
