Hi there!

I had done my first Hackintosh Build from my existing Win 8.1 PC

Everything runs quite well so far my only question is if there is something to do with the System Definition, it is set to Mac Pro 3,1

Mainboard: Gigabyte GBT GA-Z77-DS3H
CPU: Intel i7 2600k
Graphics: Geforce GTX 680
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1333Mhz
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 500GB

I just want to know if this is the best working in terms of performance for my build, i'm not interested in a fancy name inside the about mac window..

This question gets asked at least once a week.

MacPro3,1 is the most stable for most builds and is therefore the default.

If you don't know what you're doing or why you're doing it, stick with MacPro3,1.
There are pitfalls to using different definitions.

Also, if you have working iMessage etc then changing system definition will break it.

That said, matching your system hardware to the closest Mac system definition can have some advantages.

You can use the free Macktracker app to see the specs of real Macs or use the everymac.com website.

Good Luck
