The ethernet port on my Dell XPS 8300 is flaky. It craps out every day or so, and I have to restart. I has done this for a long time, and I've just lived with it. It did this under 10.7 and now under a fresh install of 10.8.
I'd like to install a PCI-e NIC. The compatibility database here: Network Card Database - tonymacx86 Wiki
suggests three adapters. The Rosewill is sold out.
That leaves the HP: Amazon.com: HP 412648-B21 NC360T PCI-Express DP GigaBit Adapter: Electronics
and the Presto: Amazon.com: Presto Gigabit Ethernet Pro PCIe Card: Electronics
Both are about $40 - with shipping, the HP will be a bit more.
Any reason to choose one over the other? Other suggestions for a NIC?
Thanks.
