When installing Yosemite can you use a DVI-I or DVD-D to VGA adapter?

When installing Yosemite can you use a DVI-I or DVD-D to VGA adapter in the installation process? It is gonna work? I have an old monitor that have only VGA support, and I”ve read that Yosemite do not support VGA output. Can anybody help?

Apple do not use VGA in their products so there is no support for it in the operating system.

Some people report success with adaptors, others not so lucky.

There is no way to tell other than trying it.
