Hey guys check this out, Let me know if anyone knows a way i could get this worked out..

Im wanting to use the same keyboard for Windows/Mac.. My current build i have them both on separate SSD... Shouldn't be an issue right? Well..

Since day one i have not been able to use the Merc Steelseries KB in OS although the USB ports for mouse are working, and the backlights are on.. When i was going thru the install of everything i restarted the process like 38 times because i thought i was doing something wrong and then i got the bright idea i have an actual Mac KB(Also USB) i would plug it in and see BOOM it worked... So now anytime i switch from Windows to Mac i have to change my KB..

What doesn't make sense to me is right now... I have both Keyboards plugged in.. Im typing on the Mac KB, and my mouse is plugged into the Merc Steelseries and it run just fine.. Why would the keyboard itself not function if the usb, audio and backlighting is all working as it should?? Any help in as much detail as possible would be great, seeing how i have tried everything i can think of...

If you need anymore information please just ask away...

Thanks in advance

Only thing I can think of is the Merc Steelseries keyboard simply has a weird chipset in it that OSX doesn't recognize. The Steelseries is designed to stack keystrokes in a buffer and adds the ability to create macros, so all in all, I would guess that the Steelseries "more complex" controller is simply not recognized by the keyboard kexts in OSX. If you want to use the keyboard, you're probably going to need to write your own kext. Not very productive in my opinion.

No probs. Sometimes these things aren't where you think they'll be.

Unfortunately I think you may be. Either that, or upgrate to a mac compatible Gaming Keyboard. Sucks I know, but you're in the hands of the manufacturer.

Unless there is some keyboard mapping software that recognise the signals but don't know what to do with them? Maybe you could see if you can program them via a third party piece of software?
