Hello, so after I formatted my messed up ML partition I decided to go to Lion. I have patched the DSDT and everything updated, but now I can not properly sleep and wake from sleep.

Well, I should say I properly sleep the machine as I press sleep and it goes to sleep...the power button blinks, etc.

However, its upon waking that the system just reboots. It does this with the sleep image fix, sleep image restore (probook installer 6), and it does it on battery and on power cable.

The only thing I can think of that may be it is, when patching my DSDT there was a field that was 16bit(word) long when it only needed to be 8bit (byte) so I changed it to byte to get rid of that error...not sure if that would be the issue?

Well, that wasn't an error you fixed, it was a warning. Not sure if that is it, but you should probably try without that change...

Thanks for the quick reply Rehabman, yes I always thought no messages were better, and its a simple fix to change it to byte. But okay let me re-make the DSDT and try that!

EDIT: no go, after making a new one, it still reboots.

What was your process for installing (fresh install?, what version Lion?, what BIOS version?, etc)?
Any devices (USB) connected we should know about?
Any kexts installed not included in Probook installer?
Specific hardware config...??

DSDT wasnt the problem, it was my Bios. I reset them and its working now...no Idea why. The most disturbing part of the process is the Webcam. It was working perfect and now its back to dark :( Something with the DSDT edits I take it.

EDIT1: yes indeed. Booting DSDT=No has a better working webcam...interesting. Im not that great with DSDT edits but I will take a look and see what your patches change.

There's nothing in DSDT edits for webcam (that I know of), but it is interesting you find the webcam working better without DSDT.

Let us know what you find out with respect to that... dark webcam has been an issue with no known solution. And I don't think anyone has bothered/noticed a difference between running w/ patched DSDT vs. standard one. Probably a good idea to look at ioreg entries for camera with and without DSDT to compare...

The only thing I can think of would be an EHCI edit of some sort? or many an ACPI. But yes, it is dark with and normal without. Explains why the default picture when you set up the computer is better looking then when you turn on Photobooth later ;)

I did an experiment: Patched my DSDT with only the dual-link display patch, DTGP method insertion, and FPED removal. The bare minimum to make my laptop boot (because I have 1080p display)...

Results: I didn't notice any difference in webcam performance. Of course, I could have a different webcam... And I've never thought my webcam was all that bad (not a heavy webcam user though).

Yeah I asked you before what you thought of it, and you said you couldnt tell. I believe we have different cameras. However, here are my findings on IOReg. I cant figure out how to change values though to test. I can only see differences between. If you can tell me how to change the...for example "this" value I can experiment more. I checked the DSDT and there is no place to change that value and IOReg wont let me change anything, it just defaults back to where it was. But here are the differences.

I didnt mark anything, but like I said a few differences are the "This" value and updated sleep properties under APPLEUSBEHCI; Non-removeable in the webcam with DSDT.

EDIT1: iunno man, it might be a fluke, or my Bios again...because its not working between the two anymore, they both look the same. But there was a difference when I erased my bios when I couldnt get it to wake. This webcam is pretty weird.
