Having the same issue as the one below (kernel panic org.voodoodriver.VooDooHDA)

http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/91553-solved-having-some-issues-after-10-8-2-combo-update-kernel-panic.html

The instructions are as follows:
  1. Boot in safe mode
  2. Delete that kext (Go to System / Library / Extensions, look for VoodooHDA.kext and delete it)
  3. Rebuild cache
  4. Repair permissions an restart (under disc utility run a repair disk permissions on the partition and restart)

Now, I tried booting in safe mode from the USB as well as the hard drive (typing "-x" before hitting enter) but each time I'll be stuck on the load screen for 10+ minutes. Am I doing something wrong?

Secondly, how do I rebuild the cache?

Thanks!
