Nope! That's BS. I've got a bunch of SanDisk Extremes which use the SandForce controller, and I have seen no problems with them. I've read about problems at MacIntouch.com about Mac installations that had some issues, but the problems were caused by user error. Additionally, some of the newer SSDs are not backward SATA I compatible which the Mac Pro use.How about buying SSDs? I've heard Mac systems have problems with SSD drives using the LSI Sandforce controller. True? Does this only apply to genuine apple systems only?
We've tried to do our homework so you don't have to. The Buyer's Guide has good advise for components that will yield a painless integration to have a successful OS X installation. But, you also have to do your homework.
