I have been having some artifacts like white missing lines sometimes on white web pages and in the log in screen. Also really high resolution pictures will get artifacts. Now, sometimes these green snow-like pixels show up on websites that have black backgrounds. It's usually never on a black photo but only CSS generated colors! Do the Sandybridge HD3000 graphics ever do this? Do you know?

Check out my youtube video of this phenomenon.

Yes, it's a well-known issue. Update to 10.7.3 and maybe they will disappear.

Green snow us also known to plague the 30" ACD's so I wanted to be sure. I'd die if it were my monitor. Lol

The HD300 has known issues. An update to 10.7.3 may not help you. You better grab a new cheap video card from this thread: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/search/label/CustoMac

I also have a HD3000 from my Core i5-2500k, but i never had such problems. I just have some lines on my monitor, but they disappear because i have wallpaper roation every 5th minutes.

regards

I have the same specs as your machine (except that I use the DVI-D port at 1680x1050) and I also have seen artifacts. However, mine are pretty rare and I only seem to have them when playing YouTube videos with Firefox.

Just my experience but the longer I keep the machine on, the fewer artifacts I see. Perhaps it's a heating issue? :?:
