Hi all, I've got a build still running High Sierra because my video card is an nVidia K2200, not supported by Mojave or Catalina. I'm finally fed up with High Sierra because of the lack of dark mode.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a video card that
1. is supported by Catalina
2. can drive a 4K display at 60Hz
3. ideally, requires no external power. my PSU doesn't have any. I'd need an adapter to draw from an HDD connector
4. ideally has no fan or a very quiet fan

I don't run any graphics intensive tasks on this box whatsoever. Thanks.

Your setup should be fine with 4K with IGPU.

the mainboard HDMI port, support up to 4K@24Hz

1 x HDMI port, supporting a maximum resolution of 4096x2160@24 Hz
* Support for HDMI 1.4 version.

AMD RX 560 (not XFX brand) $100-$130 US

nvidiaGT710 ddr3 model $30-$40 US
HD530 probably equal to or better than gt710 except for 4K resolution.

but low end Nvidia GT sereis, 99% of them do not come with Display Port, or HDMI 2.0 Port, don't expect it can drive 4K display

Kepler based Quardo should be an option

it can do 4K at 30Hz on hdmi.
It’s a low budget option the rx560 with no 6pin power is a much better option.

but 4K@30Hz cannot fulfill OP's requirement (2) 4K@60Hz
