Very slow internet with WiFi

I have built my very first hackintosh with Gigabyte GA-H67N-USB3-B3 and Intel Core i3-2105 with Airlink 101 Wireless mini USB Adapter (AWLL6075). I am running Lion version 10.7.2.

I did a speedtest and got a download speed of 0.54Mbps and upload speed of 0.94Mbps. I did another speedtest on my windows laptop and I got 14.14Mbps down and 1.04Mbps up.
Can anyone advise what I can do to improve on the download speed on the hackintosh?

What's your signal strength? My only guess would be that the antenna in your windows laptop is a lot better than the antenna in the USB stick.

even then your connection speed didnt get speed up then you better contact your service provider..

If your wireless USB adapter uses an Atheros Wi-Fi chip, you may try to do as recommended
on http://rys.pixeltards.com/2011/09/04/osx-lion-wifi.html.
This works like a charm on my MBP5,5.
