Just a FYI. If you're stuck on a MacOS installer boot loop and have external drives connected, unplug them. Spent three days troubleshooting. Another possible tale tale is OC would show 8.0 when I upgraded to 9.0. It was reading the external backups. Unplugged them and installed without issue.
