Ventura not working with burned CD's?

I've some old files I burned to CDs with a old Mac G4 MD. Loading them into my Hack I get a warning "the disk you attached was not readable". I haven't used these CD's since maybe using Mojave. Had to pull out the Mac G4 and it mounts them just fine.
But for some reason OEM manufactured CD's seem to work fine?

Any ideas?
