Hello,
I have a lot of old Apple stuff around the house and I was wondering if I could use a case of MacBook Pro 15 (I also have a 13) and transfer all the hardware of another laptop (I could keep the screen, keyboard and trackpad) or simply replace those with the other laptop parts.
I want to do this because the case of MacBook Pro still looks better than any other laptop I've seen... it's hard to make things simple.
Anyway, I haven't seen any post regarding this, and I'm wondering if someone has done it (and what laptop did they use to replace).

Thank you!

Nope, the only motherboard that fits in a MacBook is a MacBook motherboard.
Shapes are different.
Airflow is different.
Connections are different.
etc etc.

Well... that puts a dent in my enthusiasm... alas, I shall try it... these new laptops are super slim, maybe I'll find one that'll fit right in.

Hello, i have just been thinking of installin a latte panda alpha in an old macbook pro 15. Then have the screen, trackpad and keyboard work. Do you think that would be possible?

Can it be done? Maybe. It sounds incredibly difficult if not impossible. Laptop chassis are not made to fit w/e parts you want, they are made to fit specific parts they shipped with and whether or not a latte can fit in it is anyone's guess.

The latte panda will phisically fit under the chassis. The "easiest" option would be to place it where the battery currently sits. There are two other options. So i guess my question is: can i wire/solder/connect macbook screen, keyboard & touch to the lattepanda? Also, how hard would it be to extend the power touch, USBs, HDMI, audio jack and lan to the sides of the laptop.

Yes, you can do all of those things. Saying that it would be hard is an understatement.
