usb stick doesn't appearon my desktop

Hi to all,

In my osx install on an asus p7p55d install when at the multibeast stage that I put on my usb stick, it doesn't appear on the desktop. However I see it greyed in the disk utility. Any solution to correct that situation ?

I will. although if I put a stick that I've changed the format for hfs+j it works at that moment.I also trid my ipod and it doesn't appear on the desktop.

Could be because your iPod is formatted for Windows- I presume it's not iPod touch. If you're going to make the switch permanently, I'd make it Mac formatted- iTunes will work a bit better.

By installing 10.6.2 I can see any usb sticks even those fat32 formatted one

Have you installed the latest bios version? That solved many issues early on with Gigabyte boards. USB was pretty flaky back on the first few bios versions of P55s in general. Might want to check out the manufacturer's website. Good luck!
