I am trying to boot from an external USB connected WD Passport drive which is a clone of my original fully functional High Sierra installation. Alas, the original installation on a Samsung SSD is no more due to my mistakes.

The Clover 4701 screen starts fine, I use the keyboard to select High Sierra boot and then the Mac password entry screen shows up. This is where the problem starts as both my mouse or my keyboard stop working. Both the keyboard and mouse are Corsair devices. The mouse has a light that normally illuminates but this does not come on. The keyboard lights up but will not accept any key entry. I have tried plugging and unplugging both devices with no success.

Can somebody suggest a method that I can get USB working to the extent of being able to enter the password on the MAC password entry screen.

Thanks

At Clover Boot Screen select Options > PCI devices > USB Ownership and USB Injection.
May require USBInjectAll.kext in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/.
May require XHCI-unsupported.kext in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/. (Click Download repository).
May require a USB Port Limit patch.
