Hello everyone,
I'm running OS X 10.9.2 and something is seriously ****ed up with my USB ports. My motherboard is Asus P8H67.
1. Mouse/Keyboard work fine for some time, but eventually they freeze. When they freeze and I connect them to another port it works fine again. At the "used" ports no device will be recognized anymore. The interval how long they work is varying from 1 minute to a couple of hours. After restart all ports work fine again.
2. Printer is also not working correctly (the old one as well as a brand new one). They print a few pages and then they:
a) either stop printing (old one)
b) print a couple of white pages (new one)
Also Mac OS X says that my printer is offline, even when powered on and plugged in. However, I can still click "print" without problems. The print job seems to be executed, but the printer doesn't seem to receive any data.
Does anyone have an idea? After some research I found a lot of stuff as rolling back to older versions of IOUSBFamily.kext. But if my keyboard doesn't get recognized at all afterwards, it's a little bit problematic to change it back, so I'd like to ask before trying random things.
