upgrading to SSD

ok, i got an ssd on cyber monday. i dont want to reinstall everything. so my plan is use carbon copy to clone the drive. i have dual boot win 8.1 and yosemite.
i think i need to change some settings.
how should i go about the switch?

You could use Time Machine, that is if you use Time Machine.
 
will time machine copy the UEFI/EFI/windown portion of the drive? if so that will would be nice. less monkey around.
i think i need to enable trim for the ssd as well?

No it will only copy the partition you specify, so your Mac HD.
I've never used CCC, so I cannot share my experiences.
But when I migrated using Time Machine and Migration Assistant, I just used a Linux live USB with GParted to format my hard drive and then just copied my current EFI folder into the EFI partition.
 
yeah, i need dual boot. so carbon copy will clone your drive. i think that's the easiest route for me.
