Hi, I my rig's been running very stable on ML and I tried upgrading to Yosemite doing a clean install. At the Chimera boot screen, it allows me to select Yosemite or Mountain Lion. If I select ML it boots up fine no problem. But when I select Yosemite, it hangs on the Apple boot screen. If I disconnect my hard drive, the Chimera Boot screen shows Yosemite as the only option and it does boot if my ML hard drive is disconnected.

My rig: Gigabyte Z77 UD5H motherboard
Intel Core i5 quad processor 3570k 3.4 ghz (completely stock; not overclocked)
Corsair Vengeance ram 8GB
No graphics card
(basically the Customac 2013 build)
I'm not programming savvy but I'm trying to learn as I go along ;) I did it with mountain lion!

Here are my components and the mobo:

I tried everything again. This time I went into BOIS and pressed F7 (load optimized defaults) and F10 (save and exit) and I got past the apple boot screen! SOLVED and I'm sorry for the needless post
