Upgrading from HDD to SSD

Ive bought new Kingston A400 240 GB SSD

now I want to install fresh 10.13 on it, but I can't c SSD in disk util

1.I want to put my HDD on caddy drive n put SSD as main drive.

Open up your laptop and replace the hardrive to an SSD, its really simple

I did that but its not showing up in disk utility, I added apfs.efi in clover but no luck

Click the view symbol then show all volumes

DO I need to format it, as its new !

How are you connecting the SSD? USB?

First I connect to SATA and tried to install 10.13 but it didn't showed up in Dist util.(I've included apfs.efi in clover)
Then I tried on caddy drive to check whether its visible so that I can format it.

but no luck !

Are you getting an error message? Can you take a picture of it if ever?

Have you tried windows to see if it’s recognized there?
