"Upgrading" from GTX970 to AMD

I'm on High Sierra 10.13.6 and I'd like to update to a more recent OS so I can keep using my Adobe software.
For example, Lightroom asks for 10.15 or later.

To upgrade my OS I need to change from NVIDIA to AMD graphics.

Which card would be the cheapest option and maybe even a slight upgrade from the GTX970 (and also be obtainable)?

You can remove the graphics card and use CPU integrated graphics, saving you the cost of a (AMD) graphics card, whose prices are highly inflated regardless of model and first hand / second hand.

If you really want a graphics card, a RX 460 / RX 470 / RX 480 or RX 560 / RX 570 / RX 580 should be good enough for you, provided that you can find one either first or second hand.
