Hi Guys! Thanks for everyones suggestions on my last post, they really helped me figure this out.
Here is what I'm going to do with this computer:
-Make music using a couple DAW's (Ableton, Logic) and some VST's (Komplete 8).
-Play Starcraft 2, and other graphics intensive games
-Dual Boot Mac and Windows (2 separate drives)
-I need it to be quiet when its on
What I want to be able to do in the future:
-Upgrade the RAM, processor, etc to better accommodate future Mac OS
-Not die on me
Without further ado:
Motherboard (tell me which you think is better):
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
OR
Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3
CPU:
Intel Core i5-2500K
Graphics Card:
AMD Radeon HD 6870
RAM:
8GB Corsair 1600Mhz DDR3 (in white)
Power Supply:
not the Corsair 650watt (want something cheaper)
Case:
Fractal Design R3 (Arctic White)
Optical Drive:
Sony Optiarc
Hard Drive (X2):
Seagate 1 TB 7200RPM
Operating System(s):
OSX Lion, Windows 7
Let me know if you think this will be:
a) extremely easy to set up (desired)
b) able to do what I need it to do (top of post)
c) the most cost effective build
Thanks so much,
