Hi all!

I want to upgrade my old PC, because the motherboard I have now is not compatible with Mac OS X Lion (or any other Mac OS X).
I have another PC where I have a perfectly installed and working Mac OS X Lion, but I want to use my older PC as a Hackintosh, because Windows 7 is very slow on my older PC.

So here is my PC now:

Motherboard: Asus P5N-E SLI (nForce 650i)
CPU: Intel Core2Duo E6420 @2.86GHz
VGA: ATi/AMD Radeon 4870 - 512MB
RAM: 2GB (I know, it is not much)
Sound Card: Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer.

I have searched a little in the forum and I saw this two motherboards:
I. Gigabyte GA-G31M-ESL
II. Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R

and I don't know which one should I buy.

Can you guys help me choose one of them, or tell me other motherboards that will work with Mac OS X Lion ?

Thanks for the answer in advance!
(Sorry for my English!)

Daniel

Not sure you can find either where you are, but #2 is the newer model. Just depends on features you need to use mainly.

If you can find those motherboards, of course you should opt for the second one. Gigabyte P45 motherboards are quite compatible with Mac OSX Snow Leopard and Lion. I use a Gigabyte EP45-UD3L and is dual-booting Snow Leopard and Lion on my PC Mac.

However, I very much doubt you can find them new as they should be out of production for quite some time. If you have to get another motherboard, do you want to keep your current components such as the CPU, RAM and display card?

Yes, I want to keep the current components, I just want to change the motherboard.
By the way, I live in Hungary and I found these motherboards in some shops.

Thanks for the answers!

I see. Then just go for the EP45-UD3R or other Gigabyte P45 motherboards.
