Updating over fresh Install

If I don't format the disk that I want ML on does this do just an upgrade process or will it do a fresh install over it. If I was wanting to just upgrade (fingers crossed) can I just download the installer and run it like you would normally do on a MAC.

You cannot upgrade like a Mac. If you you use the USB modified setup, it is copying the files in in temporary directory and then restart to install. I never succeeded because the install is not restarting. Their are some articles on the net, how to do.
Anyway, when it fails nothing is destroyed.
At the end, I did a fresh install and a data transfer (nounting the initial install on a second Hackintosh).
May be some people on the forum have a solution.

OK did the upgrade process and seems to work on integrated but not the 670 yet. Going to get that sorted out now
