P8H61-M LE/CSM
EVGA GTS 250


Hey all,

I've done some searching and can't seem to find much on this board.

I want to do the following build, but with Snow Leopard [10.6.8]. I can do Lion if I absolutely have to but I strongly dislike Mission Control.

=$170 total (I have a 1TB HDD). The board and i3 are $100 together at Microcenter. I figure I can add a PCI-e video card later on if I want to.

i am running two hack lions using the H61m-p23 msi boards with pentium g620 processors. They work great and i'm trying to gather up some cash for one of the gigabyte/i3 100 combos if i can. The cheap stuff works pretty good!!!

youll need a graphics card with any of those boards, because that cpu doesnt include the hd3000 graphics, and also you need to go to lion to take advantage of the hd3000 anyway

Can you elaborate? Audio/sleep/LAN all working perfectly?

Microcenter's spec sheet shows that card having a VIA audio chip...

Wow, I'm an idiot. Hmm...

Better to just go to a 2125? It's only $20 more.


ETA: looks like the Microcenter discount doesn't work on the 2125...

brief comparison of expose (snow) and mission control (lion).

expose was better than mission for what it did, but mission includes a couple features that are pretty good.
